Once upon a time, in a faraway swamp, an ogre named Shrek finds his precious solitude shattered by an invasion of annoying fairy-tale characters. They've all been banished from their kingdom by the evil Lord Farquaad.

After defeating an evil dragon, saving a beautiful princess and his parents' kingdom, what's a smelly, foul-mouthed ogre to do? Tamer and gentler, Shrek has lost even the urge to roar, and misses the good old days when he used to terrorize the kingdom. Today, like a fallen idol, he's content to sign autographs left and right. So sad.
