Rocky Balboa works for Tony Gazzo, a loan shark, and occasionally fights boxers for a few dozen dollars under the name of the Italian Stallion. However, Mickey, the owner of the boxing club where Rocky used to train, decides to give his record to a more talented boxer.

Vexed, Apollo officially challenges him, despite Rocky's reluctance. He is killed in the ring and Rocky will ask for a fight against Ivan Drago to get revenge. This confrontation will take place on Russian soil.
